GHS Events - May 2008
The Galen Historical Society participating in Clyde Farmer's Market.
The Clyde Farmer's Market is up and running each Thursday afternoon until
fall. Village Trustee, Jerry Fremouw, has been the main organizer behind
the market with support from the Village Mayor, Village Board and other
community members and organizations.
On the second and last Thursdays, there is a classic car show in addition to the vendors. The Galen Historical Society will be participating on car show nights with a display of their items for sale in the park, and the Brick Church Museum open from 5-7 p.m... On May 8, The GHS held a drawing for a large pizza and 12 wings which was donated by Double J's Pizzeria. Our thanks to Double J's for donating this week. Congratulations to Elaine Juliano of Clyde who was the drawing winner. (Proceeds from the drawings will be used to maintain the flower boxes, mulch the flower beds around the museum and help with other needed projects.)

Mill Museum Door Replaced
The replacement door in the back of the Mill Museum has been completed. This makes for a much safer exit in case of emergency. Work on a ramp is being explored.
Our Summer Display is being planned:
Railroads and Trains of the Area....this is National Railroad Month and what better subject to use as the Summer Display for the Galen Historical Society. The main exhibitor for the display will be Richard Cobb, one of our own members. He has an extensive collection and has agreed to share some of it with us. Please come on in and have a look at what we have. It will be set up by the 30th of May and will continue on through August 15th. Enjoy!
